John W Haines

John W Haines is a fiction writer who still believes in heroes who wear white hats and who ultimately save the world from evil.

Born in Catasauqua, a small town in eastern Pennsylvania, John holds a bachelor's degree and an MBA from Penn State. Between earning his degrees, he served in the US Army as a counterintelligence analyst stationed at the Phu Bai combat base in Vietnam and later at Fort Hood, Texas.

Prior to writing fiction, he was a successful businessman, working in logistics and transportation management for several large food companies. Travel has been a part of his life for many years, and as a result, he has a deep appreciation for the beauty and diversity of this great nation.

His love for writing began with creating short stories designed to teach fellow employees how to use various software programs more effectively; but it blossomed when he met the individual who became the inspiration for his main character.

John now resides in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where he enjoys flyfishing and fine woodworking, in particular, building clocks.
